The FOMC holds eight regularly scheduled meetings per year. At these meetings, the Committee reviews economic and financial conditions, determines the appropriate stance of monetary policy, and assesses the risks to its long-run goals of price stability and sustainable economic growth. Read below for Equi's key points from September '23's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) Meeting. 

Rates will remain unchanged at 5.25% to 5.50%

Dot plot is saying that higher rates projected in 2024, compared to the median projected in June, from 4.635% to 5.125% 

Fed is committed to bringing inflation down to 2% from current rate of 4.2%

Bond market thinks there is a 31% chance of another hike in November
